Shetland Pony

July 16, 2009

These little tough stuff ponies originated in the Shetland Isles.

The Shetland ponies are anywhere in between 28-42 inches at the withers when full grown.

Shetland ponies have thick coats and are considered a very smart pony.

They are very strong and usually very muscular.

They are used for driving, riding, and pack purposes. These horses are good for giving rides to smaller children who are not yet able to ride a larger horse or pony. These ponies are also seen and fairs or festivals. Shetlands can also be spotted at horse shows.

These ponies are hardy and strong and can endure harsh weather because they originated from a very unpredictable climate.

Shetland Ponies can be almost every color.  They can be black, bay, chestnut, skewbald, and many more. Shetlands are very good horses for younger children because they are very patient and friendly.

Is this fun frisky pony for you?
