Quarter horses are sometimes known as “sprinters” because they can travel a short distance very fast, though some horses can outrun them in endurance riding. Quarter horses can travel quickly over about a quarter mile without tiring and can interpret many movements made by animals.
The Quarter horse is one of the most popular breeds, if not the most and there are about four million of them in the world today.
Quarter horses are also famous for playing an important roles in rodeos and other western events. Quarter horses are speedy maneuvers and are well built for being a ranch horse.
Today, Quarter horses are known for being show horses, rac horse, reining and cutting horse, rodeo compeiter, ranch horse and make a great family horse.
The Quarter horse has a small defined head with a stocky, muscular body that is built for heavy duty work if needed. They have a broad chest and usually stand 15-16 hands tall.
